Neighbourhood Plan Review April 2025

Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Plan (Review)

Submission Version

Update – April 2025

The review of the Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Plan is being prepared by Much Wenlock Town Council.

The Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Plan is a planning policy document that will replace our existing Neighbourhood Plan, which is coming to the end of its life.

A Steering Group comprising local councillors and volunteers from the community was set up to lead the project on behalf of the Town Council.

We have reached an important milestone in the process having finalised the Submission Version of the document.

Thank you to those of you who commented on the draft version of the Plan. The Steering Group carefully considered the feedback and the Plan has been revised accordingly into the version to be submitted to Shropshire Council.

It sets out planning and land-use policies that, once ‘made’, will set out how land should be considered in the area, in planning terms. The policies will also be a material planning consideration in the determination of planning applications, alongside the policies of the adopted Shropshire Local Plan.

The Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Plan must undergo a rigorous process. The next step will be a further round of formal consultation led by Shropshire Council and details of this will be provided here in due course. You will have an opportunity to input your views on the Submission Version policies at this point.

Once that second consultation is complete, the Plan will be independently examined and, assuming this is successful, there will be a local referendum inviting residents to vote to introduce the plan formally.
