The Gaskell Recreation Ground, Much Wenlock Charity works hard on a daily basis to ensure the ground stays true to the original conveyance and provide an open space for residents of the Town to exercise.

Much Wenlock Bowling Club
Much Wenlock Bowling Club provides both competitive and social crown green bowling for players of all ages and abilities.
Our club is open April 1st to September 30th every year.
We run 6 mixed-gender teams in local bowls leagues with matches at 7pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday and 1.30pm on Wednesday. The local U3A group also have their own bowling session at 1pm every Tuesday. In addition we welcome members and visitors to come along and join in our weekly social bowling session at 2:00 pm every Thursday afternoon during the season.
Coaching at all levels is also available most Saturdays at 11am.
We hold club competitions throughout the season and provide the opportunity for members to engage in friendly rivalry. There is usually plenty of tea and cake on hand at these events to help relieve the stress!!! Club trophies are awarded at our Presentation Night during the close season providing another chance for members to get together.
Spectators are encouraged and there can surely be no better way to spend a summer’s evening than to watch the setting sun over our green on the historic Gaskell Recreation Ground.
